{"id":3168,"date":"2021-12-28T09:32:32","date_gmt":"2021-12-28T04:02:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brahmalok.org\/hi\/?p=3168"},"modified":"2021-12-28T09:32:32","modified_gmt":"2021-12-28T04:02:32","slug":"words-of-st-francis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brahmalok.org\/hi\/words-of-st-francis\/","title":{"rendered":"Words of St. Francis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Riches prick us with a\u00a0thousand troubles in\u00a0getting them, as many cares\u00a0in preserving them, And yet more anxiety in\u00a0spending them, and with\u00a0grief in losing them.<br \/>\n<strong>2.<\/strong> We praise You, Lord, for\u00a0Sister Water, who is very\u00a0useful and humble and\u00a0precious and chaste.<br \/>\n<strong>3.<\/strong> When you look at a poor person, you are looking at a mirror of the Lord and His poor mother.<br \/>\n<strong>4.<\/strong> So, too, in the sick, you are\u00a0contemplating the kind of\u00a0infirmities He took upon\u00a0Himself for us.<br \/>\n<strong>5.<\/strong> We praise You, Lord, for\u00a0those who forgive for the\u00a0sake of Your love and\u00a0endure infirmity and\u00a0tribulation.<br \/>\n<strong>6.<\/strong> Blessed are those who endure in peace because by You, Most High, they will be crowned.<br \/>\n<strong>7.<\/strong> I warn all the friars and\u00a0exhort them not to\u00a0condemn or look down on\u00a0people whom they see\u00a0wearing soft or gaudy clothing and enjoying\u00a0luxuries in food or drink.\u00a0Each one should rather\u00a0condemn and despise himself.<br \/>\n<strong>8.<\/strong> Preach the Gospel at all\u00a0times and, if necessary, use\u00a0words.<br \/>\n<strong>9.<\/strong> My brothers, let us think\u00a0of the Good Shepherd, who\u00a0endured the Passion and\u00a0Cross in order to save his\u00a0sheep.<br \/>\n<strong>10.<\/strong> Our Lord\u2019s sheep have followed him in trouble, persecution, and disgrace, in hunger and thirst, in temptation and other hardships, And by so doing have received everlasting life from their Lord. It, therefore, brings much disgrace on us servants of God that the saints have done great things while we hope to win honor and fame merely by talking and preaching about them.<br \/>\n<strong>11.<\/strong> Most high, glorious God, cast Your light into the darkness of my heart. Give me right faith, firm hope, perfect charity, and profound humility, with wisdom and perception, O Lord, so that I may do what is truly Your holy will. Amen<br \/>\n<strong>12.<\/strong> I, Brother Francis, little one, want to follow the life and poverty of (High), our Lord Jesus Christ, and of His most holy Mother, And to persevere in this to the end. And I pray to you. and counsel you to always live in this same most holy life and poverty.<br \/>\n<strong>13.<\/strong> All praise be Yours, my Lord, for our Sister Bodily Death, from whom no living person can escape. Woe to those who die in mortal sin. Blessed are those whom death will find in Your most holy will, for the second death shall do them no harm.<br \/>\n<strong>14.<\/strong> Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received \u2013 only what you have given: a full heart, enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice, and courage.<br \/>\n<strong>15.<\/strong> Lord, make me an\u00a0instrument of thy peace.\u00a0Where there is hatred, let\u00a0me sow love, Wher<strong>e<\/strong> there is an injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; W<strong>h<\/strong>ere\u00a0there is despair, hope;\u00a0Where there is darkness,\u00a0light; And where there is\u00a0sadness, joy. O Divine\u00a0Master, grant that I may\u00a0not so much seek to be\u00a0consoled as to console, to\u00a0be understood as to\u00a0understand, to be loved, as to love.<br \/>\n<strong>16.<\/strong> Start by doing what\u2019s\u00a0necessary; then do what\u2019s\u00a0possible; and suddenly you\u00a0are doing the impossible.<br \/>\n<strong>17.<\/strong> Preach the Gospel at all\u00a0times and when necessary\u00a0use words.<br \/>\n<strong>18.<\/strong> Lord, help me to live\u00a0this day, quietly, easily. T<strong>o<\/strong>\u00a0lean upon Thy great\u00a0strength, trustfully,\u00a0restfully. To wait for the\u00a0unfolding of Thy will,\u00a0patiently, serenely. To meet\u00a0others, peacefully, joyously.\u00a0<strong>T<\/strong>o face tomorrow,\u00a0confidently, courageously.<br \/>\n<strong>19.<\/strong> God requires that we assist the animals when they need our help. Each being (human or creature) has the same right of protection.<br \/>\n<strong>20.<\/strong> Ask the beasts, and they will teach you the beauty of this earth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
