Mind is the bridge between body and soul
“बिनु रसरी गृह खल बंधा, तासू बंधा अलेख,

Question – What is the relation between ‘mind’ ‘body’ and ‘soul’?
Kabir is saying, ‘Whatever is there is only an extension of the mind’. Standing at one end of the mind is the body and the point at the other end of the mind are the souls.
What is the soul? Source of mind The point from where the mind originates. What is the body? The expansion of the mind (samsara). In Kabir’s place, pot, pot, house, all these nouns are used for the body only. Kabir is saying that
बिनु रसरी गृह खल बंधा..,
This body is constantly related, due to which it is the body itself. The name of that evil one is mind. And no one should understand that these are two separate entities. Binu Rasri, if they were separate, then some rope would have been needed to connect them. To add them, some formula would have been needed, which would connect them because the addition can be done only when there are two different units. These two are not only separate, the body is the whole mind of the whole. As we have just said that it is only an extension of the mind. Whatever appears, it is the mind. The body is also the mind. We usually say, colloquially, ‘my mind’, or ‘the mind is wandering’, ‘the mind is moving here and there. But the truth is that the mind cannot go anywhere, the body is the mind.
Once a man came to someone, he said, ‘The mind wanders a lot. What to do? I keep sitting here, he will run here, run there. So he replied tell him to leave you and go away. When it wanders so much, when it has to move here and there, then wherever it wants to go, it should go. Why does he come back? Go, won’t go anywhere. Can’t even go anywhere because you are the mind. Where will the mind go? It is also not entirely correct to say, ‘My mind is wandering’, because the ego is hidden in it. When you say, ‘My mind is wandering’, you mean that I am in my place, the mind has gone astray. No, the mind is not wandering. Because the center is not there, so everything seems to be round and round, round and round, chaotic, swirling. Don’t claim that the mind is wandering. Not connected to the center.
..तासू बंधा अलेख
The mind is bound to the body without a rope, and the soul is bound to the mind. There is the body, there is mind, there is soul. Those who know have therefore called the mind the bridge between the body and the soul. What is the mind? The name of the bridge between the body and the soul is the mind. But a better way is to say, ‘The only mind is the mind, whose two ends are named body and soul’. If you look from this end, there is the body, and if you look from that end, you are the soul. And if you look from the end of the soul, you will say that there is a seed, which finds expansion in the form of mind, subtle expansion. And then if it gets gross expansion in the form of the body, then the world is formed.

In this same house, in this space, that trouble resides. And in this very house, all its symptoms will be visible. Kabir is saying that if you want to know the soul, then know the body. By body means the world. By body means everything that is material, that which is matter. Know the world, you will know yourself. Know the matter, you will know the soul. Understand the visible, the invisible will be understood. Look at these eyes. And the viewing mirror is right in the middle of your hand, in front.
Look with clear eyes, everything will be visible. Look at the world, the truth will be understood. Apart from this, the saints have not said anything. That’s exactly what he said. Want to know the truth? Just look around carefully, what is happening in the world. Look carefully, at what is happening in the body. Look carefully, at what is going on in your mind. Everything will be understood. Look at your own life carefully, everything has to be understood. So there are two things:
First, the bridge between the body and the soul is the mind. Second, if you want to reach the truth, then look at the world with clean eyes, whoever has seen the world with clean eyes will know the truth. Kabir has also done only this throughout his life. He used to see the world, and he used to reveal what he saw. All the words of Kabir have come from there. He said what he saw, as it was; This is the truth.
Now the question should arise here, ‘All this is fine but the mind should have been written, why did Khal write (in couplets)?’ Ask this question. If there was talk of the relation between the body and the soul, then even the mind could have said Kabir directly. Why did he say, ‘The house is settled in the middle of the house?’ He is being called Khal because the thing which is very simple, this wicked keeps it hidden, does not let it know. What is the soul? nothing. The name of a clean mind is the soul. A pure mind is a soul. A clean mind is a heart. But when it remains pigmented, it remains dirty, then it is visible only in the form of the world. If the mind is pure, then the soul and if the mind is disturbed, then the world.
Remember, Kabir is asking to understand the world, he is not asking to become attached to the world. In the mud of the world, I am not telling you to roll, I am not asking you to enjoy. Understand the world, know it, come close to it, love the world, but don’t get attached. There is no insistence of Kabir to hate the world that I will not eat or live to hate the world. Kabir was saying that ‘Gori Apni chunariya paint in five colors. They are saying that live the five senses to the fullest. Live the five ghosts to the fullest. Kabir is not an escapist. Kabir is never asking to leave the world and run away. But they are not even asking to cling to the world. Are warning from becoming dirty, ‘Don’t do this
, They are saying, ‘There is a difference between love and attachment. Knowing this, most of the people must be talking to the attached people, so it had to be said that Khal Griha Madhya, Griha Beach Khal settled. If you were talking to the saints, you would not say that the house was disturbed, then what would you say? Nirmal settled in the middle of the house.
This is the sutra, the purer the mind becomes, the more you begin to grasp the subtle. And the more dirty the mind is, you will see only the gross as the gross. This is the way to check the formula, one who sees matter as matter, who is still very much interested in things, ‘things’, his mind is very dirty.
Those who see the body as the body, to whom a person is visible, and who are interested only in the body of the person, who has a great interest in furniture, clothes, and house; He is a man of a dirty mind. In this whole detail, it is not visible to the subtle, it is visible to the gross. The thing is one, the thing is one, and the soul is the extension of everything. Whether it is said that the expansion of the mind is everything. Like you want to say, the element is the same. If you are looking at that element in a physical form, then the reason is only one; Be dirty, And as the mind becomes clear, that element will start appearing in a subtle form. So how do you see the world, how do you see existence, that will tell you what your mind is like, what is its quality?
Someone came to meet you, and it was asked who was the person who came to meet you, and so you say, he was fat, dark-skinned, or was so tall. If you have given these details, then you are sure that you are a man with a dirty mind. Someone came to visit you, and asked, ‘Who was it?’ You gave these details, ‘How were his thoughts, what was he saying, how was his mood’, so you are somewhere in the middle. Or you told that what was his identity, whether he was a boy or a girl, whether he was a Hindu or a Muslim, whether he was a child or an old man, then you are somewhere in the middle because you are able to see the world mentally. And if someone has come to meet you, and you see only ‘He’ in him, then understand that the mind is pure. ‘Who came to meet?’ And your answer is, ‘Who else can come? Only Hari had come.
Surat came in a different way, but it was the same. Apart from him, there would have been no one else to come. That’s what came. This is the work of a pure heart. This is subtle intelligence. She does not see what clothes she is wearing, what her body is like, and whether she is young or old. She sees only one in what she sees.
Once Buddha was sitting somewhere in the forest, in the same forest, some people picked up a girl and brought her. The girl somehow escaped and ran away. While running, she passed in front of Buddha. Buddha was calm, sitting in meditation, in silence. Three or four people came chasing him, and caught the Buddha. They say, ‘Tell me, a girl must have gone running from here, where has she gone?’ Buddha said, ‘I don’t know anything. He said, ‘You are sitting here. Just now a girl came out in front of you. The Buddha replied, ‘I have now been left far behind when I used to see men and women, rich and poor. I can say so much from the limit that someone had come out. Whether it was a man or a woman, it has ceased to be visible. My eyes can’t even see it now.
This is a pure mind. It looked something different. Yes, if a third man is watching, he will say that Buddha is talking to a woman. Ask Buddha who you are talking to, then Buddha will say, ‘He didn’t even notice that she was a woman’.
It is not that their eyes are damaged now that they cannot see the body. These things have become meaningless for them. One who knows what money is worth, how will he now judge someone on the basis of whether he is rich or poor? The one who has come to know the truth, now how can he see you in such a way that you are a Hindu or a Muslim? The one who has understood the time, how will he see you now, whether you are a child or an old man? What is the cost of age left for him now?
Will you pay attention to this in life, how do you see the world? You went to someone’s house, and there is a small house. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of wealth. Immediately if this thought comes in your mind that hey, oh, it seems that such poor people are there, then you will understand that the mind is very dirty, it needs a lot of purification, otherwise, how come this thought? You didn’t see anything else? You just saw that Oh! How small is the house, how small is the living room. Your eyes just measure size, they see resources.
A woman or a man comes in front of you and the first thought that arises in your mind after seeing him is whether he is attractive or not, beautiful or not, then you will catch yourself; The mind is very dirty. The mind is very dirty, you do not see anything except its appearance. Look at the language too, how is ours? If three people are walking from the front, then immediately you will say, ‘Three girls are coming’. Didn’t see anything else? You had only one way to describe them? ‘Three girls are coming’, your eyes only saw their gender, our language is also like this. It differentiates individuals on only one basis; Gender – ‘She is sitting, she is sitting’.
‘She is sitting, she is sitting’, our language as we are. So there is a person sitting there, it is not necessary to say that. ‘Sitting’. So that it is sure what its gender is. It is not happening without telling it. This only shows that this language has come out of a very sensual mind. It is very important for that mind to know what gender is.
If not, what was the need? ‘Three people are coming’, that could have been enough, right? But what do you have to say? Three girls are coming.
Listening is the same way. The grossest hearing is that in which only sound is falling in your ear. So the eyes which see only matter, in those ears only sound is heard. If the eyes are such that they see only matter, then the ears will be such that they will hear only sounds. If there has been even a slight catharsis of the mind, and the eyes have become such that they cannot recognize matter, then the ears will become such that there will be no sound but words. And if the mind has been further refined, if the mind has been refined further, then the eyes will become such that they will neither see matter, nor will they see identity, they will be able to see only that which is the supreme element from the depths. Through these eyes the element will be visible. No third eye is needed, from these eyes. And whose eyes have become like this, his ear will no longer hear sounds, no words, he will hear silent, silence will be heard.
Life is the name of the journey from the gross to the subtle. What is born is a mass of gross flesh. One who is born is a body of gross flesh. His journey is to find the subtle. The body was born, got the soul. Understand the meaning, birth is always the body; death is always of the body. The soul is immortal, this is life.
Mind is the bridge between body and soul
