This is a prayer composed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Contains three verses. In this the person’s mind (manas), speech (vaani) and body (kaya) are prayed to be dedicated to the supreme soul.
The first thoughts, words and actions of every day have a profound effect on the life of a person. If they are dedicated to God, they become divine, and they pave the way for spiritual light. Morning time is an external symbol of inner awakening, so early morning prayer is considered very important.
In these verses, Shankaracharya also explains the quintessence of Advaita-Vedanta. The ultimate truth is “Sachchidananda” (existence-consciousness-bliss). This is the Turiya, which is the reality of the three states of experience, it is beyond them.
However, these expressions cannot be termed literally as descriptive or definite of reality. This is so said, because Brahman is denoted in a negative way, as in ‘neti neti, not this’. “Brahma” is beyond classification; It is not within the limits of thoughts and words. The so-called individual soul is no different. “Soul” should not be confused with the variations of body and mind.
The elements that make up the world are illusory appearances on the original reality, like a snake in a rope or a garland, then as soon as the sun of knowledge rises, these illusions disappear and the ultimate goal of life The target is achieved.

In the morning we remember that existence, which is the soul, which is being effectively illuminated in the heart, existence-consciousness-ananda, the goal of paramahansanyasis (sages), that fourth level; One who always knows the states of dream, waking and sleeping, that Brahman who is unbroken, who is beyond the set of elements.

प्रातःकाले पठेद्यस्तु स गच्छेत्परमं पदम् ॥४॥
This quintessential triad of verses, three-word ornamentation – one who recites in the morning attains the highest goals. This is the fruitful praise of this Vedantic prayer. It is the praise of prayer whose purpose is to sanctify one’s thoughts, words and deeds so that the ultimate goal of life can be achieved.
